Sri Vyas Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya  (SVSM)

The brain child of Dr. Sri Acharya ji, who by his master’s inspi­ra­tion and moti­va­tion start­ed this col­lege in the year 1995 with two stu­dents . Though  Sri Acharya ji, has been offered cov­et­ed and hon­ored posi­tions in renowned  and pres­ti­gious insti­tu­tions to serve, for his exten­sive and knowl­edge, com­mand over the San­skrit lan­guage, he renounced every posi­tion to ded­i­cate his life for the mis­sion of reviv­ing tra­di­tion and cul­ture of Vedas and sanatana dhar­ma. Hence as ini­tial step start­ed this Vidyala.

Achieve­ments of  Sri Vyas San­skrit Mahavidyalaya in var­i­ous fields in the last 30 years

1. Orga­niz­ing a sev­en-day astrol­o­gy and rit­u­als camp in the year 1996. This camp was orga­nized by Himachal Pradesh Edu­ca­tion Direc­torate, Shim­la. In this, the impor­tance and uses of astrol­o­gy and rit­u­als were explained to 150 trainees and they were also giv­en cer­tifi­cates in this regard by the Direc­torate of Edu­ca­tion.

2. Oper­at­ing in Sri Raghu­nath­pur tem­ple com­plex since 1995 for the last 28 years.

3. In the last 28 years, 1529 Vishisht Shas­tris and 121 Prab­hakars passed.

4. Achieve­ment of Ms. Sonia, the top­per stu­dent of Prach Shas­tri sec­ond year in the ses­sion 2011 (Gold Medal)

5. Exam result for 25 years is 92%.

6. State lev­el recita­tion com­pe­ti­tion (orga­nized by Himachal San­skrit Acad­e­my) d. Get­ting first posi­tion by Shub­ham on 18/12/2015.

7. Dat­ed; 01 / 12 / 2017 In the ses­sion 2016–17, the state lev­el speech com­pe­ti­tion was orga­nized by the Rashtriya San­skrit Sansthan, run under the Min­istry of Human Resources, at San­skrit Vidyapeeth Gar­li, Kaghra (H.P.), two stu­dents Ms. Ambra and Ms. Sonia

8. First place Ku. Himani won the nation­al lev­el San­skrit speech com­pe­ti­tion orga­nized by the Nation­al San­skrit Insti­tute. 28/12/2016, Suc­cess­ful­ly par­tic­i­pat­ed in Agar­ta­la, the cap­i­tal of Tripu­ra.

9. Par­tic­i­pat­ed suc­cess­ful­ly in state lev­el and nation­al lev­el com­pe­ti­tions

10. State lev­el Hin­di Day com­pe­ti­tion (Dis­trict Lan­guage Depart­ment, Shim­la) d. Srishti got com­mend­able posi­tion in essay writ­ing on 14/09/2018.

11. In the state lev­el speech com­pe­ti­tion orga­nized by the Min­istry of Human Resources in the ses­sion 2018–19, two stu­dents of San­skrit Vidya Peeth Gar­li, Ani­ta, Man­ju, got sec­ond posi­tion and Mon­i­ca Thakur, Kusumala­ta got first posi­tion.

12.Ms. Mon­i­ca Thakur and Kusumala­ta rep­re­sent­ed the col­lege and Himachal Pradesh in the Nation­al Clas­si­cal Speech Com­pe­ti­tion orga­nized by the Nation­al San­skrit Insti­tute in Tripu­ra in Jan­u­ary, 2019. From 07/01/2019 to 09/01/2019.

13.College alum­nus Pur­shot­tam Lal Thakur to get admis­sion as a PhD stu­dent in Sri Lal Bahadur Shas­tri San­skrit Uni­ver­si­ty (Cen­tral Uni­ver­si­ty), New Del­hi in the ses­sion 2019–20.

14.Purshottam Lal Thakur, an alum­nus of the col­lege,  received the degree of PhD in 2023.

15. Ambi­ka Maharpa, a for­mer stu­dent of the col­lege, is pur­su­ing PhD from Gar­li Vidyapeeth, Kan­gra, run by Nation­al San­skrit Insti­tute, New Del­hi from the ses­sion 2019.

16. Col­lege alum­nus Heera Devi receiv­ing M.Phil. degree from Himachal Pradesh Uni­ver­si­ty, Shim­la in the ses­sion 2020.

17. Till now, more than 100 alum­ni of the col­lege are serv­ing in the gov­ern­ment sec­tor. And more than 200 stu­dents are con­tin­u­ous­ly mak­ing impor­tant con­tri­bu­tion in pub­lic wel­fare work by pro­vid­ing their ser­vices in rit­u­als and non-gov­ern­ment sec­tor.

18. “Teach­ers Train­ing Cen­ter” for bud­ding Shas­tri stu­dents of Himachal Pradesh.

19. Col­lege has made sig­nif­i­cant prsence at State and dis­trict lev­el San­skrit schools

20.Successful orga­ni­za­tion and par­tic­i­pa­tion  in var­i­ous pro­grams in the ses­sions.
