Sri Vyas Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya (SVSM)
The brain child of Dr. Sri Acharya ji, who by his master’s inspiration and motivation started this college in the year 1995 with two students . Though Sri Acharya ji, has been offered coveted and honored positions in renowned and prestigious institutions to serve, for his extensive and knowledge, command over the Sanskrit language, he renounced every position to dedicate his life for the mission of reviving tradition and culture of Vedas and sanatana dharma. Hence as initial step started this Vidyala.
Achievements of Sri Vyas Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya in various fields in the last 30 years
1. Organizing a seven-day astrology and rituals camp in the year 1996. This camp was organized by Himachal Pradesh Education Directorate, Shimla. In this, the importance and uses of astrology and rituals were explained to 150 trainees and they were also given certificates in this regard by the Directorate of Education.
2. Operating in Sri Raghunathpur temple complex since 1995 for the last 28 years.
3. In the last 28 years, 1529 Vishisht Shastris and 121 Prabhakars passed.
4. Achievement of Ms. Sonia, the topper student of Prach Shastri second year in the session 2011 (Gold Medal)
5. Exam result for 25 years is 92%.
6. State level recitation competition (organized by Himachal Sanskrit Academy) d. Getting first position by Shubham on 18/12/2015.
7. Dated; 01 / 12 / 2017 In the session 2016–17, the state level speech competition was organized by the Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan, run under the Ministry of Human Resources, at Sanskrit Vidyapeeth Garli, Kaghra (H.P.), two students Ms. Ambra and Ms. Sonia
8. First place Ku. Himani won the national level Sanskrit speech competition organized by the National Sanskrit Institute. 28/12/2016, Successfully participated in Agartala, the capital of Tripura.
9. Participated successfully in state level and national level competitions
10. State level Hindi Day competition (District Language Department, Shimla) d. Srishti got commendable position in essay writing on 14/09/2018.
11. In the state level speech competition organized by the Ministry of Human Resources in the session 2018–19, two students of Sanskrit Vidya Peeth Garli, Anita, Manju, got second position and Monica Thakur, Kusumalata got first position.
12.Ms. Monica Thakur and Kusumalata represented the college and Himachal Pradesh in the National Classical Speech Competition organized by the National Sanskrit Institute in Tripura in January, 2019. From 07/01/2019 to 09/01/2019.
13.College alumnus Purshottam Lal Thakur to get admission as a PhD student in Sri Lal Bahadur Shastri Sanskrit University (Central University), New Delhi in the session 2019–20.
14.Purshottam Lal Thakur, an alumnus of the college, received the degree of PhD in 2023.
15. Ambika Maharpa, a former student of the college, is pursuing PhD from Garli Vidyapeeth, Kangra, run by National Sanskrit Institute, New Delhi from the session 2019.
16. College alumnus Heera Devi receiving M.Phil. degree from Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla in the session 2020.
17. Till now, more than 100 alumni of the college are serving in the government sector. And more than 200 students are continuously making important contribution in public welfare work by providing their services in rituals and non-government sector.
18. “Teachers Training Center” for budding Shastri students of Himachal Pradesh.
19. College has made significant prsence at State and district level Sanskrit schools
