Entry Qualification / Eligibility
1. For admission in the first year of Prakshastri, it is necessary to have passed 10th class (Higher Education Board, Dharamshala) with Sanskrit subject.
2. Students who have passed 10 + 2 examination including Sanskrit subject can take admission in Shastri first year.
3. After being registered in Himachal University, no student will be eligible to appear in any examination conducted by Himachal Pradesh Board.
4. A student of class 10+2 without Sanskrit subject will again get admission in the first year of Praka Shastri.
5. 50 seats are reserved for first year Prakshastra. In special cases, the decision will be taken only by the authority of the Principal.
6. For the Vishishtshastri degree, it will be necessary to study English as a compulsory subject and any one of these optional subjects — Politics/Hindi/History from Pracshastri‑1 itself.
7. Vishisht Shastri degree is recognized as Honors in Sanskrit subject and B.A. with Classic. Therefore, its scope is wider than ordinary graduation.
8. The facilities and qualifications available to graduate degree holders in government and non-government sectors are also available to eligible Vishisht Shastris.
9. Vishisht Shastri is also eligible for all types of examinations like NET, SET, IAS, HAS, IPS, IFS etc.
10. The eligibility to do new research in higher research fields and to preserve and promote ancient Indian knowledge is also vested in a special scholar.
11. Vishisht Shastri Degree of Honors in Sanskrit subject gives the student state-of-the-art (Modren)
12. To do B.Ed. from Himachal Pradesh, students will be required to study Political Science or History. You can also study Hindi subject as per your wish.
Materials required for admission –
1. Two attested copies of 10th class certificate.
2. An attested copy of the last passed examination.
3. Original copies of character certificate and migration certificate obtained from school/university.
4. Four copies of the photograph.
Disciplinary Instructions / Guides
Morning Session – Attendance of all students in the morning prayer meeting at 9:40 is mandatory. Financial penalty will be given to the student for not appearing on time.
Class examinations — Every month class examinations are organized in the college for every student to express his views on any subject related to Sanskrit in the morning assembly. In which all the students will have to give examinations on related subjects every month. state of not appearing in exam
Class Attendance
1. Students’ attendance in class should be regular on every occasion.
2. 75% attendance in the year is mandatory.
3. If you remain absent for six consecutive days, you will be expelled.
4. Re-entry will be allowed only once after paying the prescribed fee.
Discipline
1. All the students studying in the college should maintain discipline in the class. Do not indulge in any kind of bad activities.
2. If the teacher is not present in the class, follow the orders of the student who has special responsibilities in the class.
3. Use of mobile phones is prohibited in the college premises.
4. Failure in the annual examination of the University will result in denial of admission.
5. In case of emergency admission of failed students, the annual admission fee will be doubled.
6. Arbitrarily coming and going from school will be a punishable offence. The name of such a student will be suspended from the college and he will not be given re-admission.
Parent Teacher Meetings
Institution aims at transparency at all levels, hence frequent parent teacher meetings are conducted to enhance and enrich relations of parents with the institution for better results, and including parents for better eco-systems for students. Hence the Mahavidyalaya has achieved an average of 96% of pass out results since 30 years.
